Joy Chappell is an IRS Enrolled Agent, which is the most expansive license the IRS grants to tax professionals. "An Enrolled Agent (EA) is a federal authorized tax practitioner who has technical expertise in the field of taxation and who is empowered by the U.S. Department of Treasury to represent taxpayers before all administrative levels of the Internal Revenue Service for audit, collections, and appeals."
Joy specializes in tax preparation for ministers and clergy and has prepared tax returns for more than 30 years. When asked, "Why clergy taxation interest?" Joy answers, "My grandfather was a Brethren minister, two uncles, one brother, and one cousin were ministers, and one cousin was a tent evangelist. Somebody had to figure out their taxes!"
